What is Round Dancing?
Round Dancing is choreographed partner dancing enjoyed by thousands of dancers around the world. Set to a wide variety of music, Round Dancing combines the elegance of ballroom dance with the social atmosphere and friendship of the dance community.
A Round Dance Cuer guides dancers through each dance by cueing the upcoming figures, allowing dancers to enjoy the music and movement without having to memorize every sequence. This makes Round Dancing both enjoyable and accessible while providing opportunities for continual learning and growth.
Round Dancing encompasses many popular dance rhythms, including:
- Waltz
- Rumba
- Cha Cha
- Two-Step
- Foxtrot
- Tango
- Bolero
- Jive
- Quickstep
- West Coast Swing
- Mambo
Whether graceful and flowing or lively and energetic, Round Dancing offers something for everyone. Dancers enjoy the challenge of learning new choreography, the pleasure of dancing to beautiful music, and the camaraderie of a welcoming community.
At Festival 2027, dancers will enjoy workshops, teaching sessions, featured cuers, and a full program of dancing that celebrates the many rhythms and styles of Round Dance.
Round Dancing is more than just dancing—it’s music, movement, friendship, and fun.
